Broome time!
I arrived, finally, after a long uncomfortable night. The bus was packed to the gills so I couldn't even spread out to get some sleep, but such is the life of a traveller! I had to wait to check-in to the hostel as it was so early and got talking to a guy who happened to be a driver of a bus trip and he invited me to join him and some of his group for the day. We hired mopeds and went on a sight seeing tour of Broome. It was my first time on a moped and I have to admit that I was a little nervous, but we were off on the road within 10 mins of me getting the bike!
We started with Towns Beach where we went for a swim (it's bloody roasting here!) and relaxed under palm trees for about an hour.
Then we headed off to a headland (will look up the name!) where there are dinosaur footprints 30m out to sea. You can see them at a very low tide, but we only got to see the replica's of them (see gallery). Next it was off to Cable Beach for lunch and then relaxing on the beach to wait for the sunset. Every sunset on cable beach is different so most tourists go every night that they are here to compare them. We headed back to the hostel then for a much needed shower and so ended my day as a biker chic!!
We went out for a few drinks that night and had a bit of a laugh. The next day I did nothing except food shopping and reading. That evening we went to watch the Stairways to the Moon phenomenon, but it was too cloudy to see it, but we had a laugh anyway!
The next evening we went to the open air cinema and then for a couple of drinks. The following evening was the last evening of the Stairways to the moon and there was lots of food, music and fireworks to celebrate and even better, there were no clouds at all!!
The next and final day in Broome was spent on Cable beach sunning ourselves and then a camel ride on the beach at sunset, which was really great fun! They're moody bastards them camels!!!
Now starts the trip down the east coast with Easyrider. Wohoo!!!
