Byron Bay

So we arrived in Byron Bay, eventually and went straight to bed for a few hours. The bus journey actually wasn't as bad as we had anticipated, but still not something that you want to be doing on a regular basis.

The weather was not the greatest the first day so we didn't do much, just walked around the town, shopped (for food, honest!) and did our washing, fierce exciting stuff!! We went out for a few drinks that night, which was interesting to say the least! We were joined by 2 Israeli's who were stoned out of their heads. When the first guy sat down Anne had her back to him so when she turned around she nearly jumped out of her skin! They were not the most normalest of guys and they were actually starting to freak me out a bit when they finally decided to leave as they could see they weren't getting anywhere! About 2 minutes later another guy, who was about 40, asked us if we wanted to join him and his friend for a round on him, so we left!!

Next morning we got up and headed on a walk up to the Cape Byron lighthouse. It was a stunning sunny, hot day and it was just blissful. It was a tough enough walk because of all the steps but we loved every minute of it. Apparently you can frequently see Whales, dolphins and sea turtles from along the walk but unfortunately we didn't see any, ah well! The walk took us about 3 hours, including a swim, it's definitely worth doing.

We spent the evening relaxing and organising the rest of the trip. We're off to Surfer's Paradise now so stay tuned!!
